Pelvic Floor Awareness Training Conducted for Women Actively Engaged in Sports

At Kütahya Dumlupınar University Faculty of Sport Sciences, an important educational event titled “Pelvic Floor Awareness Training in Women Engaged in Active Sports” was organized. The event, which aimed to draw attention to pelvic floor awareness—a topic of great importance for women’s health and sports performance—was held with the participation of expert academics and students in the field.
The training was conducted by Prof. Dr. Mihri Barış Karavelioğlu, one of the faculty members of our department, with contributions from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hümeyra Kiloatar, Physiotherapist Specialist Aylin Aydoğdu Delibay, Physiotherapist Hümeyra Şereflişan, and Physiotherapist Hazal Ateş. In addition, Physiotherapist Cennet Nur Bulut, Physiotherapist Melike Tevriz Duman, Physiotherapist Sıla Onar, and Physiotherapist Mustafa Çelik also took part in the event.
During the presentation, the importance of pelvic floor muscles in women who engage in regular sports activity was discussed, along with proper usage of these muscles and preventive exercise approaches against possible dysfunctions. The aim was to provide participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical awareness.
